Similar in construction to most of our other 'warbirds' this
model once again takes a simplistic approach to what is a complicated
full-size aircraft, full of compound curves.
Although it was a difficult
model to design, it proved a real joy to build and a thrill to fly. There's
a saying that if it looks right, it will fly right and this version of
the Harvard epitomises this saying to a tee.
The model is well mannered
and with flap extended, floats beautifully at low speed and remains reassuringly
stable.
The Harvard was designed around original 3-veiw drawings and as a consequence
has a very scale appearance which should satisfy the 'true scale' modellers
out there.
Although design for a 65 IC 4-stroke the model could easily be converted to
electric power using an 800watt motor on 4-6s lipo The model has been
designed around a commercial medium size air operated retract but as
an alternative, electrically powered retracts could be tried.
The plans
are full size, reproduced on two very large sheets of quality paper and
not as supplied free with the RCM&E magazine.
Canopy and cowl are now available as is a CNC pack of laser cut parts and wood
pack to complete the model. The CNC pack includes fuselage formers,
the middle fuselage sides, balsa tailplane and fin parts and ply wing
ribs.
Please Note
Although we carry selective
stock, we generally print
and manufacture to order
so deliveries may take up
to 28 days to reach you
from point of order. Also
delivery of plans, some
plastic parts and CNC wood
packs will be sent as separate
consignments.
