Similar in construction to most of our other 'war birds', this model is a real joy to build and great fun to fly.
There are no real vices with this model.it goes where you point it and
does what you ask of it.The
P51 was known as the Cadillac of the skies, and the model sure does feel
solid and reassuring..... just like Cadillac I guess!
This 'B' version was designed around original 3-veiw drawings and as a consequence has a true scale appearance which should satisfy the 'true scale' modelers out there.
For those modelers who would prefer to build the 'bubble canopy' D version, fear not, the plans have the details to allow you to convert from the B to the D version.
Design for 1000watt electric motor but could easily be converted to IC power for a 70-90 2 or 4 stroke glow engine.
The model has been designed around commercial 120 size
electric powered retracts, These are now available through this web site.
The plans are full size, reproduced on two very large sheets of 90g bond
paper and not the 'free plan' quality, supplied with the magazine.
The canopy and half cowl are available as are the CNC pack and wood pack
to complete the model.
The CNC pack includes fuselage formers, the lower fuselage sides, balsa tail plane parts and ply wing ribs. It also includes the additional formers for those wishing to build the 'D' version.
Please Note
Although we carry selective
stock, we generally print
and manufacture to order
so deliveries may take up
to 28 days to reach you
from point of order. Also
delivery of plans, some
plastic parts and CNC wood
packs will be sent as separate
consignments.
